Meatball Sandwich Recipe

Had my first meatball sandwich back in 1983 when I lived in Boston and marching in the 27th Lancers Drum Corp. Boston was a great city for food, and meatball sandwiches were no exception. I think it was in color guard competition, and one that was not good at all. I've never heard of meatball sub or sandwich. I assumed that, of course, that meatballs were only for spaghetti. Now, whenever I get a chance to have one. I like the ones from Mr. Sub, but if your interested in making their own, here are some recipes you can enjoy.

Secret Meatball Things

two spoons of Italian seasoning (dried)
one pound of lean ground beef
two minced garlic cloves
three-quarter cup of crumbled bread into
two spoonfuls of freshly chopped parsley
one beaten egg
grated Parmesan cheese, two spoonfuls
one tablespoon of olive oil - extra virgin
some slices of Provolone cheese
one long roll of your favorite crusty bread
one half teaspoon garlic powder
fourteen ounces of your favorite spaghetti sauce
Salt as needed

Four Simple Steps to Great Sandwich

Heat your oven to about 350 degrees.

The shape of its dozen balls, with beef, crumbled bread, parsley, Parmesan, egg, garlic and Italian seasoning. Place meatballs in the oven for about twenty minutes. Test to make sure patties are cooked all the way through.

Spread garlic, salt and olive oil on bread and toast for about 5 minutes in the oven.

Get warmed spaghetti sauce, meatballs and mix in. Once the bread toasted, add the meatballs, a little sauce, and provolone cheese. Place in oven just long enough to melt cheese.

Tada! Great meatball sandwich.
